Hi! I'm Emma Jones and I created Emergetic for women – all women, but especially those who need to find and love themselves more.

Fitness and the mindset that comes with it, helped me find myself, find a passion and change my life.

And as a result I want to be the help I wish I had had, for women who have struggled or who are struggling.

In 2012 I discovered lifting and almost instantly reaped the mental and physical benefits. It all started when my old sash windows were replaced. The window fitters left behind two 4 kilogram metal bars, that were the sash window weights! I picked them up and did a few lifts...badly! Back then I weighed around 6 stone and was incredible ill from anorexia, I knew I had to change for my son 3 year old son so I started lifting these two metal bars more frequently, knowing that building muscle is a great way to become healthier. I then hit the internet, trying to learn as much as possible about fitness and nutrition, and desperately trying to seek new physique inspiration.

By 2014 I had gained around 3 stone and was eating much better, but I had also become quite passionate about lifting, having increased my weight collection from the two sash window weights, to a small collection of home weights. It was then that I decided to apply for my personal training qualifications, purely so I could learn more and better myself more. Never did I expect it to become my career and full time passion! In 2015 I become fully qualified and started PT'ing friends!

In 2016 I started my bodybuilding journey and it turned out, that I was quite good at it. Since starting, I have won many titles as listed below and have learnt so much more about the human body.

I was born 1986 in North London but have lived up North since I was 4 and went to Ripon Grammar School as a weekly border. You could class me as a stereotypical 'posh girl gone bad'. I was always a bit of a nerd and loved learning, but I rebelled the against the dictatorship of my childhood, was expelled from Private Grammar School and then after my mum passed when I was 17, I fell off the rails completely. I suffered with severe anorexia, bulimia, self harm, suicide attempts, drug and alcohol addiction, the list goes on.

Since my son was born in 2009, I have been working on fixing myself with the help of mental and physical therapy. My journey has led to multiple different diagnosis's including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (a genetic condition which greatly effects my physical health), Dysautonomia, Borderline Personality Disorder, Cyclothymia, high functioning anxiety and severe depression and am currently awaiting an Autism diagnosis.

I suffer a lot, both physically and mentally and have been on a massive journey to not only keep myself physically healthy, but also as mentally healthy as possible.

At the age of 27 I was told I would need new hips, due to mine dislocating so often and creating tears and wear within the joint. I refused the surgery and instead studied and put into practice all the therapy and work I could to save my hips. I am proud to say I still have my original hips and have never had to undergo any surgery for them due to the muscle I have built.

I later found out I have degenerative disc disease and arthosis to name the worst, in my back and many severely damaged joints and muscles as a result of my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Lifting weights correctly and building strength and stability has literally saved my body from giving up.

I feel it is important for me to share my issues with you, so you can see that no matter what cards you are dealt, you CAN still succeed.

Emergetic is here to help you not only achieve the body you desire, but also help you feel good, inside and out, mentally and physically. I have developed a knack for sharing my new found positivity, remaining real so you see its ok to have bad days and as a result have successfully helped transform many women’s lives. Not just their bodies.
